pcvisit Linux Guest – Download page
Technical advice
Due to the wealth of Linux distributions, installable packages and libraries, it might appear that Linux guests will require a specific package which must be installed. To prevent this scenario, we offer you a special Guest Console.
The command-line based guest clearly has smaller requirements regarding installed libraries and packages. Nevertheless, it can release all functions on Linux systems - seeing, showing and remote controlling.
Requirements – Guest Console (pcvisit_linux_console.tgz):
- libstdc++ from GCC 4.1
- X11 with Xtst
These requirements are generally found in the following systems:
- CentOS 5.3 and higher
- Suse Linux 10.1 and higher
- Ubuntu 8.0.4 and higher
- Debian 5.0
Performance can be reduced in older distributions.
Requirements - GUI-based Guest (pcvisit_linux_tray.tgz):
- runs on all 32-bit Linux systems when the following libraries are available:
- libgtkmm-2.10 (including dependencies
- libgrkglextmm-1.2 (including dependencies)
- on 64-bit systems the Guest Module can also be operated with the libraries specified above as a 32-bit version. However, we recommend the use of the Guest Console with 64-bit systems.
These requirements are generally found in the following systems (alternatively the necessary libraries can be installed later):
- Debian 5.0 (32bit)
- Ubuntu 8.04 (32bit)
- Ubuntu 9.04 (32bit)
- Suse Linux 10.3 (32bit)
